To me, this photograph represents the Great American Depression because this black man seem very sad. He seems isolated and no one is coming to his store where he sells fish. In my mind, the Great Depression was a time of great lonlyness and abanidation. He is hurt in more ways than more; emotionaly and physicaly because he has crutches next to him. In this photograph, the mans store seems very old and wreaked, how I imanged many building during the Great Depression. One thing that did surprise me was that the man was selling fish. Fish seems like a odd thing to sell, especially during the Great Depression.

This photograph best describes the Great Depression because its shows these black people working hard at a little job just so they can make enough money to survive. To me I think that blacks didn't get offered as good of jobs as whites during the depression, but they took the jobs anyway so that they could make enough money to survive. The man and woman in the photograph don't look happy or that they want to be working there. They are both probably working because they want to support their family. I think the little boy in the picture is their son and that is one of the reasons on why they are doing what they are doing work wise. The little boy might also be doing some work so that he can earn money for the family too.
